Dear Congregation, Greetings from your Missions Committee!
It is time to get ready for our Christmas gifts for the Good Shepard Ministries in Haiti. Our church has supported this ministry for many years both monetarily and giving these Christmas gifts for 3 Christian Schools for the teachers and children. Our goal is to make 100 Christmas gift bags this year. To make it to Haiti for the Christmas Season we need to start gathering our gifts now as we take them to Savanna by October, then on to Florida by truck, and then taken from Florida to go by boat to Haiti. The items that we need to fill these bags are useful and for enjoyment. These are the items that we need for each bag.
Spiral notebooks, wash cloths, coloring books(no super heroes), small towels, colored pencils, bars of soap(no Palmolive), crayons (24 pack), large toothed combs, ball point pens, boys and girls underwear, pencils, boys and girls socks, glue sticks, colored or white T-shirts, good pencil sharpeners.
Toys and extras: small balls, small, rulers cars, jump ropes, cards, play dough, pink erasers small games, small stuffed animals or dolls, scissors flying discs, flashlights with batteries, small games, jewelry for girls, solar watches, etc.
$600.00 for shipping
Put your donations in the second children’s classroom in bags or boxes and they will be added to the right containers for counting. Please take a look at the Missions board weekly to see what is still needed. Each gift bag is the size of a 2 ½ gallon bag.
Please call or e-mail Margie Hemingway, with any questions!
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR MAKING THESE CHRISTMAS BAGS, AS THEY WILL BE THEIR ONLY GIFTS THEY WILL RECEIVE THIS SEASON.
